Hi,

This will present the possibility for fraud on a massive scale,
however. Pretty sure their will be 2000 sets of license details on the
internet, all with their list prices.

out of principle i dont use BBC services long story so wont go into
the ins and outs of it. as for configuring tor to poke a hole in the
right place i dont think thats an easy option because by its nature
tor is designed to use IP cloaking/randomization as its MO.

the way the BBC are behaving ( especially its licence revenue
collectors/enforcers) raises sufficient questions to question the
legallity of the licence fee.

Amro, with you all the way here, I haven't found it necessary to do
such things yet, but once the government decide that we all have to
prove we have tv licenses in order to access BBC content, which it
looks very much like they're thinking of, then I may well choose to
do something similar.

Hi Shaun,

Many thanks for this. Yes I understand, reading about how Tor
functions I wasn’t sure it would work for this purpose. If you’ve
had the chance to try and see how easy and accessible it is to root
your traffic through a chosen IP/server that would be good.
Presently I have my VPN subscription but don’t mind trying Tor if it
can do what I want.

And just so I don’t get replies on why it’s wrong to do this, I’m a
TV licence payer so I don’t see much harm in watching my favourite
TV programs when I’m on a holiday!

Best
Amro

Amro

although tor is usefull for accessing blocked sites it relies on its
effectiveness by not relying on external pluggins, therefore it is
possible that tor may not be ideal for using with BBC iplayer ( i can
possibly test that out though on my tor bundle and see if it works.)

Hi Shaun, a question about Tor please. Can this VPN service be used
to access sites that are locked to a geographical location? E.g.
can one use Tor to access BBC iPlayer whilst traveling abroad? I
browsed the Tor Project site but couldn’t find any mention of this.
Thanks.

i'll research the ultrasonic stuff a bit and see what i find, there is
almost certainly a US patent on the technology.

As for putting your phone in a microwave oven that is for times
when you
are NOT using it, fyi even if your phone is"off" the built in
camera and
microphone can be remotely activated, so, don't leave yor mobile
device
in the same place that you are likely to be holding a private
conversation.( or engaging in any other private activity that you dont
want used against you. however legitimate that activity may be).

Coming back to the altrasonic snooping the EFF web site might be a
good
place to start looking.

What's that about ultrasonic snooping? Can you point me at a link?
Google didn't come up with anything, or maybe GCHQ got to them first.
