Thanks if I install it in the near future I will bear this in mind.
While the toolbar no doubt has its uses, it can be a cause of some real
problems in my experience.

Just to prevent others having the same problem. I did not notice that Skype
had also installed the Google tool bar. After re-instaling Skype and removing
the tool bar the error message no longer appears.

I have just installed Skype. When trying to enable the hotkeys I get the
error message:
