Hi Joe

If you're looking for something that is a flat bed, and in addition is highly
portable, I can't recommend better than the Canon LiDe range which are A4
flatbeds and USB powered. Because it all depends on what you want to scan and
how fast, but generally these are all round good machines and work with most if
not all of the scanning apps you're likely to encounter. In addition, the twain
use interface software is very accessible and drivers are relatively easy to
get hold of for all major operating systems including windows XP and up, and
Mac OS. Take care and I hope this helps you.
