Hi Jeff

I used to use an Epson and did the photocopying bit as well, it worked
brilliantly. But I now have an Opticbook 3600. This is quite good in that
the glass goes right to the edge of the device, and enables you to hang a
book over one edge. I use one of the Microsoft Office utilities to
photocopy and send to my printer. My only complaint with this scanner is
the time it takes to warm up. Once it does, the scan is very quick. It is
a nice device though and one I've been using for over a year under Windows
7.

I understand the Canon scanners are lightweight and fairly portable, but are
slower in scanning speed. You could also consider a stand-alone job or a
camera-based effort, but they are expensive, and as you have K1000, you
would probably be best served by using a flatbed.

I am sure other users will chip in, but good luck.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

Hi all,
I have been using an ancient scanner big and clunky.
What I liked about the old Epsom was not only could I use it with Kurtzeil,
but I could photo-copy using it straight to the printer.
My old Epsom is now dead, suggestions for easy perhaps smaller scanner easy
for totally blind to use.
