Hi Clive,
I believe that to be an external mic socket.
All the best

Thanks Richard,
I'm giving it a go as I write. It was the bit about having to press the stop
button which I'd forgotten.
What is the headphone-style socket at the exact opposite end of the device
from the USB socket? It's clearly not the headphone socket itself, as that
is about a third of the way along the side parallel to the controls. That
has no writing to identify it, whilst the other sockets have legends next to
them.
Thanks,
/Clive

Clive,
I'm sure that you'll remember that you need to press the stop button while
inserting the USB to turn the unit into recharging mode. Also, if it helps,
the USB end which fits into the bottom of the unit is roughly the shape of
the socket into which it fits. Notice that it's slightly thicker than the
lightning lead for iPhones, and the slightly shorter of the two longer edges
goes at the top - to fit the socket.
HTH,
Richard

Subject: [access-uk] Re-charging an Olympus DM450
Hi all,
Apologies for the blatantly stupid or elementary question, but:
I have an Olympus DM450, which I haven't used in a while, and will soon need
to use again. Please could someone remind me who supplies Olympus talking
recorders, so that I can get a reminder of what type of lead I'll need to
charge the batteris, and if necessary, to buy one?
Thanks,
Clive
