So presumably the Trek phones home every now and again, just to make sure
your map licence is valid, and it's probably in demo mode.

Hi Kevin,
Apparently, this has happened to all treks.  I've had a few phone calls
today asking me whether mine has lost the map, and it has.  No idea why but
I think Humanware's lines will be red hot tomorrow.  I know I'll be one of
the callers.
