Hi David, Every converter I have ever seen is accessible, it is only a device in device manager, and even JAWS can handle device manager <Smile>. Thanks Steve - have you any hints on which of the several converters is 'accessible'? Hi David, The thing to do is to install the software for the USB to Serial adapter first, then plug it in. Once done, go to Device Manager and select Ports Com/LPT, then find USB to Serial Converter. Go into Properties, and look on the Ports tab. It will tell you which port it is using. Just give JAWS the same information, and it should work. Can anyone let me know if I will be able to use my Power Braille 40 through a USB port, using a serial to USB adapter? If so, which port do I select in JAWS 9? My main desktop machine has gone caput, and the new one doesn't have serial ports. David No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
