Well, I still have the old dial up modem in my pc, I am covered with the security stuff and, sadly, I can't see the porn (smile), so I'll give it a try. I have always had a dial-up modem for faxing and have never had a problem with rogue dialers being installed though of course it can happen, particulaly if you are partial to a bit of porn. I will give it a miss. I was only trying to make my life a little easier, but it's not a major issue. If so then perhaps yes. There used to be a piece of software out there called Prima Dialer Pro which sent a dial tone to your desktop speakers. You simply held the reciever up to the speakers, then hit autodial within the software to get connected. I've been waiting for years for a Jaws scripter to achieve an audio dialer of some sort, but it just hasn't happened. PS. Connecting a dial-up modem as well as a high speed modem to your desktop, simply for the sake of achieving an audio tone through your speakers can be a serious security risk.
