Hi Jim,

There's a big difference between "Audio Description" and "Speech
guided controls".

A.D. comes over the air waves, whereas Speech Guidance is built into
the hardware and is supposed to be like a screen reader.

George.

Hi Yusuf and Mark,

The Which magazine reviewed a number of DVD Recorders a couple of
years ago and at least 3 Panasonic models were claimed to have Audio
Description built in "to aid the visually impaired".

1 of those models was the DMR 773 DVD Recorder.

If I can find the article in my archives I'll send further details to
the list.

However, a word of caution. I called in a local Panasonic store and 2
of the reps working didn't have any knowledge of audio description
capability.

Interesting, I didn't know that any of those sorts of devices had
speech on. If you do find anything out will you post to the list?
