Yusuf,
The recorders I mean have nothing to do the the new TV and have, as far as I
was aware, beenaround for a year or so. These are the independent recorder
units with built in freeserve receivers, DVD and hard disk recording
facility.

Mark, From what I could tell it was the TV's speech that gave you access
to the external Hard disk recorder.
