Hi Jackie, Neal Ewers did a podcast for Blind Cool Tech on the Olympus
multitrack recorder, the LS100. The link is
http://media.libsyn.com/media/bct/bct1575OlympusLS100RecorderReview.mp3
It has the potential of being a very nice piece of kit, if they did some
work on the voice guidance. As you'll gather from the podcast there are many
menus on the LS100 which only announce the top item in the menu, which is as
good as nothing.
                    John.

        Hi Steve

My friend saw it at an exhibition in Scotland, and said the voice is
better
on it than on the DM5, and that the buttons appear to be more
tactile.
According to the Olympus rep, he said this is an update, so I
wondered if
anyone had seen or played with it?

On the Olympus theme, has anyone played with the eight-track
recorder?
According to Olympus, this is only partially speech friendly.

        Kind regards,

        Hi,

In fact it is the American version of the DM5, it's no different.

        All the best

Hi Jackie, I've checked it out on Olympus's website. It sounds very
much the
same as the DM5. Here's the link.

Has anyone heard of this recorder, and how does it compare to the
        DM5 for a
blind person? I am asking on behalf of someone not subscribed who
        has come
across it, but couldn't obtain any helpful information. I looked on
        the
Olympus website, but didn't find anything of real help there.

        Many thanks.

        Kind regards,
