Norman,

I took the liberty of changing the subject line so hope you don't mind.

All the options are on the NVDA menu. Press Insert and N (for November), then Preferences, then Voice. Or if you want to use a different speech synthesiser, it's Preferences and then Synthesiser, again followed by Preferences and Voice is you still want to change the voice.

Be sure to save your changes by going to Insert plus N for the menu, the S for Save Configuration. To save any changes automatically every time, go to Prefernces, General Settings, then Save configuration on exit.

To get a list of all the NVDA keystrokes, go to the menu, Help, Keyboard Command Quick Reference.

NVD~A works with a whole range of speech synthesisers, including Microsoft SAPI4, SAPI5, MS Speech Platform, and several that are detailed on the NVDA web site. So it works with voices too numerous to mention.

Vince.

Hello I have never asked a question before, so I hope that you all can help. Does anyone know how to change the voice on the screen reader NVDA? ----- Original Message ----- From: "william lomas" <will.d.lomas@xxxxxxxxx>

it is the same as the RNIB one I think, just that the RNIB version has it all pre-installed, obviously you'd need sighted help to add the software on to it. From what I have read you install the software from the USB drive, then the voice file

Hi
For those who've updated the software:
1. Is it easy
2. Is there any likely difference between this one and the RNIBs one once it's updated?
Thanks in advance.

I'm sure your aware but thought I'd point it out just encase, this
version will need software updating before it talks.

Hi everybody, today I want to tell you about the recording facilities
of the
TVonics box. There are two types of recording, instant record, whereby
you
just press the record button, third button right hand side of the remote,
followed when prompted by ok, the other timer recording, which can
either be
done by setting a timer manually, whereby you enter the start and end
times,
or, which is far easier, using the guide.
When you find a programme in the guide you want to record just press
record, and it will be scheduled for recording. If the programme is
one of a
series you'll be asked if you want to record all the programmes in the
series, and if so to press the blue button, bottom row right hand side of
the remote, and it'll schedule recording for all episodes of that
programme
it finds. If it's just a one off programme you'll just be prompted to
press
ok.
One thing to note about series recording. Where, for instance, a
programme
is repeated on the corresponding plus one channel it will record those
too.
John.
