Ray, it supports USB 2.0 from what I read. I don't get Access IT on disk, otherwise I would have pasted the info into the body of a message. But in essence, it can do a lot of things with additional features like a colour detector in the future. Now that might be worth further investigation? Not being a Milestone fan particularly, I'm in no hurry!

Very interesting Clive.

It would be nice if someone comes up with accurate info on the Milestone 312. I've found a news story at:
http://magnifiers.org/news.php?action=fullnews&id=331

There, mention is made of a USB interface for transfer of files. An RnIB forum though is talking about the USB being only 1.1. So, which is it?

the modular approach is interesting; bolting on features that people want thus tailoring this device to differing needs and how much one is prepared to spend. Options such as a stereo mic, colour detector are mentioned in the news story at the above link.

Mind you, the Bones website isn't a lot of use. Nice big pictures of people, but near meaningless links and not much info, too.

Intriguing. Let's hear more, though I'm happy with my Victor Stream, USB 1.1 accepted.

Cheers,
Ray.

Hello everyone,

As readers of Access IT will know, this month's issue ran a news item about the release of Milestone 312. For those who don't receive the magazine, this is a much-improved product to its predecessor. From what I understand, you pay for the features you want (there are quite a few listed), so it can be as simple or as sophisticated as you wish. I would be interested to hear comments from others on the list and look forward to further news on this product.

Best wishes,

Clive Pallett
