Andrew, I would suggest that you see a demo of the product before you buy.
take along the sort of stuff you think you'll want to scan and test drive
it. The scanning will never be as accurate as a flatbed scanner, I
believe
because of the effect of ambient light on the material to be scanned. Try
before you buy.

It's a matter of guessing and practice really. It's easier with a mobile
that has the camera in the middle of the phone. One tip I read was to
place
the phone on the item to scan then lift it straight up about 12 inches.
