[access-uk] Jaws and FN key in Laptops

Hi friends,
I'm going to get my first new HP Laptop.
Up to now, I used only Desktop PC.
I wish to know more abut the key in Laptops that is called:
Function key.
What exactly is this key used for?
And when I use Jaws, and I'm using now Jaws9.0.552, the latest updated version,
do I have any improvement or something else that I can do with this function
key?
