Hi,
I'm with Steve. I haven't properly used note takers, like, non stop for months. Just have the 2 apple devices on me, nowadays. Based on some calculations, from a note takers price I could get:
A basic Mac. A 128 GB iPad Pro. A 64 GB iPhone 6S+. Just rough estimates. I could probably get an android Tablet, they all have braille keyboards [possibly not the android] and keep my apex as the portable displax, which I have already, anyway. Just my views.

hi so, then if you have a copy of jaws and a braille display that's the focus 14 of course how much more would it cost to have the el braille

i can still hear steve nuts voice in my ear about going for main stream.

i must say though changing tack to the subject of the new braille note touch all in one so easy to use but hell the price is high.

Hi Jackie and all,

You are, of course, perfectly right about the pricing, Jackie. There is, though, something else I would raise if I may. I was somewhat astonished to read the specifications of this tablet, putting the price entirely to one side. I just bought a Kangaroo PC for $150. It has better specifications than this tablet does. Compare the tablet's specs
http://www.insidevision.fr/insideone,uk.;html
to the Kangaroo's specs

http://www.newegg.com/,p;roduct/,p;roduct.aspx?,i;tem=,n82e168566
59001&t;pk=kangaroo
I understand that the market for devices for the blind is small and that the price must, therefore, be high. More accurately, that's what we are told. I'm afraid I don't understand, however, why this unit, the B2G from NBP, the new Humanware unit, and so on, have lower specifications than far cheaper units available to the public. I asked this question on the Android list and was, basically, told to shut up. I don't expect to get any kind of answer, you understand, but it is a question which I think is worth asking. Put aside the price, as I said, assume for the sake of the argument that it's £4000 because that's the lowest possible price the companies can charge while still paying their employees. Can't they add less than 5 % and make sure the product is up to date when it's released?
Aman

This looks interesting from the link you provided Ed. But these prices are ridiculous to be honest, and so prohibitive for so many!
