Thanks John,
No the phone is not showing in the laptop why I don't know. Have had
sighted assistance and it appears that I have locked my phone as it
says phone unavailable. Clearly in trying to fix the issue I have
caused another one. Am really angry with apple over this and just glad
I have just got a new phone.

the phone to the pc something should be seen there. it could be the
volume
buttons that need turning to a higher level. i am lucky i could use my
pixell six and scan the screen of the i-phone to see what it says on the
screen with look out

to get voiceover back activate siri and say "turn voiceover on", if it
says voiceover is already on then activate siri and say "turn voiceover
off" and when siri says voiceover is off repeat the command to turn it
on and this often does the trick.
pete.
