Happy New Year to everyone on the list and thank you to those who have assisted me with various problems during 2008.Following the problem I was having a few days ago with ESET Smart Security not updating automatically on my Vista laptop while it has no problems doing so on my XP desktop machine, I was interested to find out the following.I have been using my laptop while away over Christmas but have had to connect to the outside world using bluetooth via my N73 mobile to T-Mobile as no internet connection was available otherwise. Surprisingly enough, when connecting in this manner, ESET updates automatically on the laptop. I have looked in the Smart Security settings but can find no explanation as to why it should be able to update on its own when I'm connected via bluetooth to T-Mobile, but will not do so when connected wirelessly to my home network using Plusnet. Can anyone shed any light on this? There must be a setting somewhere, but I haven't been able to track it down. Thanks, Caroline. ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
