they didn't have me down either, I think this was the case with quite a few people from what I have heard. I just called them and asked them over the phone about accessible formats. the scheme was widely advertised, so this was easy to do with out there info pack. originally, they wanted that sort of proof from me also, but I told them straight, that I didn't have it, hadn't for the last 16 years at least, but did have an audio letter confirming my high rate mobility DLA, that had my NI number on it, which they were willing to accept. so I made an mp3 of the tape, e-mailed it over, and that was that. they filled in the rest of my details over the phone, so no problems there either. I think with some of these desk jockeys, it is a case of being a bit acertive, and making them think outside the box a bit. What I am saying is that I was sent out a print agreement and information pack. Did not even know there was an information pack so how could I have asked for it in accessable format? Interestingly they did not have me on their database in any case as being blind even though I have the 50% reduction on licence fee for blind people. They said that my name was not on the list they got from Social Services. ----- Original Message ----- From: goshawk on horseback To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, July 14, 2012 5:34 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Digital Switch Over Scheme same here, once I asked, I got everything in accessible format, in my case audio, and when it came to providing proof that I am registered blind, they even accepted an mp3 of the audio format letter confirming that I had got my high rate DLA mobility. We all here had no problem with the agency at all.
