I've decided to keep it and take my chance as to whether it is updated in the future. There are enough features about it that I like to make it worth my while keeping it.

Hi Eleanor But surely if a product isn't suitable for her needs, then she should be able to return it. You will need to look at the terms of the contract of purchase and the returns policy.----- Original Message ----- From: Mandy <mailto:lovingtennis@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, July 05, 2012 2:42 AMSubject: [access-uk] DM5 and DM675. This is going to sound crazy to most I suppose, it is! In March I bought the DM5 and it didn't take long to get used to most of the functions: I made some good sound recordings mostly family and friends and then because one of my friends was impressed with the recordings, she bought the same product except that it wasn't - she purchased it from RNIB as I had done but it is the 675 which is presumably newer. It has three microphones instead of two, it doesn't have Daisy facility and there are a couple of other differences. I thought tat with three microphones it would produce better recordings so I now have one as well as the DM5 but find that it is far less accessible. There is speech but it doesn't work with all the functions. My question is: is it likely to be updated as the DM5 has been and how will I become aware of these updates? Am I correct in thinking I have 14 days to return this product (it arrived last Saturday) and if there is a fair chance of it being updated with more speech I will keep it. I am certain that the DM5 did not originally speak the time settings as this does not: probably more things besides. Sorry for the long post: I do hope it has made sense.
