Hi Carol

Me too, that's why I'm not buying yet.  We've got a Sky Plus box, and only
get the standard channels because we don't subscribe to any packages.

I think there are differences in Freeview and FreeSat, but that's why it is
confusing, because some say it's the same and some say the channel listings
are different.

Our current analogue TV is ok and we are in a similar situation to yourself
in that regard.  If the telly conks out, then I don't know what we'll go for
either.
