And because of that, no more blank messages.  Well done Ibrahim.

Hi Steve.

I'm no longer using the iOS client LOL, I've deleted the email app from my
phone and replaced it with outlook, by the way anyone looking for a good
email client for iOS is strongly advised to check out outlook, it has come a
long way in the last few months and I now find it more efficient dealing
with emails and managing my calendar with this app than I did with the iOS
built-in apps.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrrahim,

No, I suspect it's the iOS client causing the problem, but I don't think
it's the client itself, I think it's a problem with the list.

Could you send a reply to this message using the iOS client?

Thanks.

All the best

Steve

Hi Steve

I'm now using Microsoft outlook on my phone, I was previously using the iOS
mail client. Are you telling me that the issue arises when both email
clients are used? I only switch to Outlook this morning for the purposes of
this test and to minimise the number of messages that are being received as
blank

Hi George,

I would tend to disagree with both.  I'd say it is an encoding issue.  It
only happens when the recipient is using Outlook.

It is certainly not a reversed DNS problem, since some see it, and some
don't.  If the sender were to blame because of reverse lookups, then the
message would either be flagged as spam, or not received by anyone, their
mail servers would simply reject it, not receive it but strip out the body.

So I'm not sure where you came up with that one.

All the best

Steve

Hi Jackie,

I can assure you this is not the only list which suffers the problem of
blank messages, but so far I've been unable to determine an exact cause.

My suspicions so far are two-fold.  First is that the sender's email system
is not reacting correctrly to what is known as "Reverse Lookup", which is
designed to reduce spam.  The second is that it may be some type of issue
related to a specific type or version of hardware/software.

Would it be possible for the list moderator or owner to look into why some
messages on this list come in as blank?  I am using Office 365, and all
messages from Ibrahim and a few others come in with nothing in them.  This
seems to be the only list I am subscribed to where it occurs.  Martin is
also subscribed and gets the same blanks, so is it an Outlook thing or what?

Kind regards,
