Bluetooth does seem to be a bit hit and miss, I can get it to work ok on the
Asus, but not on my HP laptop.

I've just tried to pair the Asus to the Hp laptop by choosing Bluetooth from
the system tray on the Asus, then arrowing to new connection [or whatever it's
called] hitting enter on that which opened Bluetooth for me, I clicked next,
and then search for devices; it found the laptop, and asked for the code, the
edit box was there for the 0000 code. I didn't take this any further, just
wanted to try it for you to see what results I got when pairing a new device,
and all seems to be as expected.

No idea what is happening for you, but hope sighted help later gets it sorted
-

  Andy

NO, tried with the phone just to make sure, but no icon appears. Just the
standard Bluetooth in the system tray, but nothing about a device trying to
connect. I fear me and Bluetooth just weren't destined to be!

      I know, that's why I used :)

Seriously though, have you got any further?

What happens if you try pairing a different device? -

Andy, it didn't mean to sound like that. I meant it to sound like I
know Andy can help me, but if he's not around or can't then can someone else?
Didn't mean to hurt your delicate feelings!

That sounded like can anybody but Andy help :)

Anyway, I probably can't <smile> but I have managed to pair Bluetooth
speakers to the netbook, and I definitely got the box to enter 0000 as the
password.

Hope you get it sorted -

          Andy

I know Andy on this list has an Asus netbook, but if anyone else
does I'd be glad of some help.

I'm trying to connect a Bluetooth headset to my netbook, however I
get stuck at the part where it asks for a password. On the PC a box came up on
the screen for me to type into, but no such box appears on the netbook and then
of course I get the dialogue saying pairing failed and a Cancel and Try Again
buttons.

So, how do I get around this? Is there an option to uncheck it
asking for a password? Or is there a password edit box but JAWS isn't reading
it?

            All help very much appreciated.
