Very helpful reply Brian. Can you clairify though, is 'c-saw' entirely specific or proprietorial to this product, or or is it something bound up with the Mozilla browser, which I think comes as part of the package? Also, could you comment briefly on the screen-reader, system access part? How good is it in Word, and other apps? They speak of using Windows commands to use the system access part, which I don't quite get. Obviously I am well | versed in using the Freedom Box itself as I have that, but I had never used | the key to freedom itself since it was newly launched. | | I have to say I was very impressed with it. The first time you use the key, | there is an activation process which needs to take place. For this, there | needs to be a connection to the internet. If you want to use system access | thereafter, internet connectivity is not required, however of course it is | for the freedom box network. | | You do not have to do anything really to activate the product. Just type in | an activation code, then sit back, relax, and let the software do the rest. | While it is activating, or doing what it needs to do, there is a spoken | description of what it will be possible to do in terms of the freedom box | and system access as and when you can get started. | | After the activation, you can plug the key into any computer. Within a | couple of seconds, you get a message asking whether you want to use freedom | box or system access. You press the corresponding number on the keyboard, | and you are away. | | When one of the two programs is launched, your system settings are loaded as | these are stored to the key itself. Very cool. | | The concept of using freedom box has been well documented before, so I will | not do that here. However, the term C-SAW has been mentioned in this | thread. Basically, this allows a user to give titles to poorly labelled | links and images on a web site, whereupon they are made available to other | freedom box users. It enhances the whole spirit of community which is very | evident throughout the freedom box product. | | Brian Hartgen | E-MAIL: brian@xxxxxxxxxxx | | | > Thanks Tink, I am hoping Steve Nutt will get back on this one.
