Assuming you use the 24 hour clock it is simply a matter of subtracting the start time from the end time to detrimin how many hours worked. In E9 you would put; =(d9-c9) If you try and use the 12 hour clock with am and pm then I have no idea what horrible contortions you would need to go through to try and work it out.
