However, I largely agree about altitude. It's always tempting to go for
a strike mission at cloud base on visibility grounds. In reality, it
better to be higher unless the clouds are more continuous.
Diving in on target from ~8000 ft and exiting on the same heading is
pretty hard to beat. As we found today.

Again if they saw us they did not show it or that they saw it was two Tempest coming in behind them and where not bothered. If we were 109’s they would have been dead, why because they were flying low even if they had seen us. On both cases even though the formations attacked should have seen us, it proves that you can fly these mutually supporting formations, but if you don’t use it properly it’s not worth flying them.
Our day finished on a bad note as we got shot down low, separated, low on fuel, and altitude beat us to hammer the point home lol.
