Thanks.  That's sort of what happened.  All users do only log into the 
domain.  However, the network card in that particular pc died and for that 
one day while waiting for the replacement card even though they were 
"logging" into the domain they were not connected so that's when the 2nd 
directory was created.  Someone on another list explained how to combine 
the 2 which I will try today.
