Hi, Ron..
I know that I can have 7 e-mail addresses with my server, and I had
added one of those e-mail addresses as an address for my original yahoo id
and kept my original address as the only address mail is to be sent.. I also
made sure that I had the proper areas checked that I did not want
advertisements sent.. Well.. I checked it the other day, and had LOADS of
spam there.. I have not used it or even mentioned that I had that address to
anybody else..
Also, when I go into yahoogroups to look at files and mail, Spybot S&D
has blocked spyware attempts to access my computer.. This all started after
Yahoogroups went through 'The Change'.. Thought you might want to know this
info, in case you had not already figured it out.. LOL
Debbie, I use Outlook Express. I do not preview all messages, so they do
not dl on my computer.. If you go to the top of OE, select 'View', 'Layout',
and the second area has 'Pre-view' .. If you have a checkmark in front of
'Show Pre-view Pane', un-check it.. You can generally breeze through your
mail and delete the spam.. If I question what it is, and am curious.. I
right-click the message, scroll down to Properties, select the tab 'Details'
and select the button on the bottom 'Message Source'.. I thought I would
just tell you how I have been handling my 'spam'..
   Hope this helps! Tina
