On a day to day basis, people don't actually discuss consciousness all that much. If we go beyond direct discussion of consciousness, then look at epistemology. It is said to be a theory of knowledge. If it is a theory of knowledge, why isn't it the underlying theory from which teaching methods are derived? Why do schools of education prefer more constructivist approaches <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constructivism_%28learning_theory%29> ? Regards, Neil
