Swans were seen on the distant ice shelf viewing SE from Jefferson Park this morning. Morning light angle is bad from the park. I drove over to the end of Nicolet Boulevard to get the sun at my back and this was much better looking to the NE. Still distant but 20X-30X provides good viewing. I counted 23 swans (same count as Daryl from 2/1) but about half were sleeping. I could see a single mute swan but the rest that were active were trumpeters. Based on the total, Daryl's tundra swan is probably still among them.
