Why not just use ISA server? Then you can specify internet access based on windows account, not IP address... ?? -----Original Message----- From: Jim Kenzig http://thin.net [mailto:jimkenz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, July 06, 2004 1:58 PM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] assign IP by logon? I know that you can have multiple IP's on one machine but I was wondering if anyone has come up with a way to assign a specific IP address to a user once they are logged on if there are multiple ones on the machine. The theory would be that user A would log on and get the 1st IP and User B would log on and get the second IP. You could then use firewall or routing tables to specify what each user could access. I suppose you could probably change the IP in a startup script but the timing would have to be perfect or you would lose your connection. Is there a utility out there that already does this?
