You guys have short memories..I posted the solution to this a few weeks
back. When it craps out click on the help link.
This link takes you to the update troubleshooter

Figure it out from there. You have to reinstall a few files and you are in
business.

Try reapplying Service Pack 4 from CD or network.  That solved the problem
for one of my users.

Yes it shows the percentage after you hit the "scan for updates" link, and
then it just comes back to the same page, not displaying any updates.  Just
wondering if anyone has ever seen this happen, where you can't download
updates after it starts trying to scan the computer to see what updates it
needs to download.
