It's certainly true. And if you have a complex password, I imagine even
though you do not change your passwords every month or so like most it is
commonly advised (even by M$), you just have to make sure that you will be
alerted in case somebody starts doing a brute-force attack towards one of
your systems.

It's definitely a fine balance, I've found that users are willing to put
up with more complicated passwords if you use them longer.  For us, we
have some fairly strict requirements, but we only rotate every six months.
