Hi, Sharon, under preferences with control p, and under general preferences, if you tab, there should be a check box that says check for new versions of winamp at start up, just uncheck that box, and press escape, and you won't be bothered anymore with the update message. Incidently, general preferences is one rung down from the top of the tree-view which you can get to with the home key, after pressing control p for preferences.
