Assuming that this version of oracle is comaptible with win2k, sometimes I
get this problem. It means that some system file is coruppt. Try a repair
install with your win2k cd.

Greetings Everyone,
I am trying to install Oracle 8.1.6 Person onto my
Dell win2k box. The installer starts when the CD is
inserted, but I simply get an hourglass which quickly
disappears when I click on install.
Does anyone have any ideas? I have tryed installing
just after reboot, shutting down services; nothing
seems to work.
