Hi Eleanor, Your thoughts on the annoying touchpad or even a key combination for turning on and off certain items of a laptop are very good points. It can be very difficult for someone not used to these features to leave themselves with audio or internet. Ah yes thanks Paul, how stupid of me, of course the touch screen just turns on and off the broadband connection. Now I hope raising these points re Hp laptop is useful as I was unaware of this touch screen area above the keys on my laptop and was distraught when I suddenly lost both my sound and internet connection. It is so easy when visually impaired to accidentally touch this touch screen area above the keys when getting used to a new laptop. Thankfully that is now something of the past.
