Sounds like Clyde is doing beautifully. What a good boy. I so hope = your club is able to stay afloat. Yikes! I tend to take Karyn's approach to introducing new work gear or -- = anything else that makes Mitsy uncomfortable. With the harness -- and now with = the Halti -- I have her wear it out the first few times on a fun trip, = starting with a walk straight to the park and some good play. Then on an errand = or two on the way to the park, etc. She's pretty funny aobut the Halti. = She's good, if unenthusiastic, about letting me put it on but very dramatic = about trying to paw it off her face. I distract her, then treat her when she settles down. She wore it without a leash attached on the way to the = park and seemed to forget about it once we got going. I had her touch it = before we got ready to go home and gave her a treat. Keep up the good work, and good luck with the club and lessons! I can attach my side bags on it and keep things like my hearing aide = batteries, Clyde's seat belt, and some chews for Clyde in them. I can also carry = the ID I got from activedogs.com in the widow for it. I know we don't need = ID's but it was so much easier when I had Buckley and the program issued an = ID for us that I wanted the same thing for Clyde. it has Clyde's picture = on it and the ADA, DOT and FAA laws and numbers on the back. I also carry = these cards that say the ADA info on them and that if the person questioning = has asked for papers or ID then it is against the law. =20 I have noticed that Clyde doesn't like putting a harness on.... I have = to say in a firm voice "Clyde come" and he will but I wish he would get = into it without problems. I give him a treat when we are done. is there any suggestions on how I can get him to like it?? =20 Clyde is doing better on heeling. he doesn't lag behind that much now. = he sits 100% of the time and downs 100%. now we have to start working on stays. class starts on the 17th but if we have a head start then we = will be able to pass the CGC the first time through. =20 there has been talk of the Rochester Dog Obedience Club shutting down = due to lack of interest in club members. we are a non-profit club and I am a = board member . I have helped classes for several years and run the table for = sign up and getting people ready for class. this means no more free classes = for me if we shut down and the only person around that does clicker training besides the board are $90.00 for a 6 week coarse. to much for me. I = only get $650.00 a month and that goes for rent and utilities and food. =20 enough babbling , Ridge and Clyde SDiT ----- Original Message -----=20 From: bcpaws4me<mailto:bcpaws4me@xxxxxxxxxxx>=20 To: Vi-clicker<mailto:vi-clicker-trainers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>=20 Sent: Friday, January 04, 2008 12:51 PM Subject: (VICT) Harness-Ridge Thankyou I just got the Premier 5 point harness today for Thane.
