I put the harness on this morning and he just stood there letting me do it. I
used the active dogs harness today. I didn't have the bags on it and maybe
that is why he lat me put it on him. maybe the bags were scaring him when I
tried to put it on..... I will try it before I put the bags on and see if that
doesn't make him more comfy with it. both harnesses you can undo the chest
straps and put it on that way so I just hold it over the top of Clyde and then
do the straps. with the 5 point harness I had to slip it over his head then do
the girth straps. I still haven't gotten my bandana yet..... hopefully soon.
then I will only use the five point harness and the bandana that says he is in
training. here in MN the laws are the same for SD and SDiT. I will work with
him on clicking and treating for positive looks and touches on the harnesses.
also as soon as we are home it comes off and only goes on when we are going
out. do you think I should put it on a little while before we go out?? I will
also try it not having the bags on it. I carry things like his seat belt,
chews, and some of my things like hearing aid batteries and a drinking bowl for
him. I will try and get a bag that I can carry with all this stuff in.
thanks for the suggestions. I will be working on them with him. I will take
the harness of and put the 5 point one on now.
thanks again, Ridge and Clyde SDiT

hmm an additional thought. I would suggest teaching him to put a collar on
over his head first.. then do the same thing with the harness like karyn
said..
Less stuff to work with when teaching the collar first..and less chance for
him to get whacked by straps and buckles..JMO
