I will work with him on clicking and treating for positive looks and touches

e before we go out??

I teach the dogs to "get dressed" I start with teaching it with a oversized
collar. One that he can put his head in without having to buckle or anything.
sometimes I use a choke chain for this.. probably the only reason I still
have them around..! Grin. I hold it over my hands spread out and c/t for
touching it at first. then I work up to slipping it over their head.. and
telling
them how handsome and well dressed they are! Grin.. ya gotta have fun with it
right? then I worked with the harness.. Many dogs get so enthusiastic that
they stick their heads in any object held out with the cue.. when you first do
the harness, I c/t for them even if they get the wrong hole.. after they are
good at that, I start maneuvering the harness and only c/t ing for the proper
hole.. as time goes on, I add the criteria of standing still to do up the
buckles.. I teach this at home whether I am going out or not I want them to
harness up on cue.. let us know how it goes!
