I turn off my computer every time I'm away from it. IOW, my computer is cycled on and off a minimum of 15 times every day.

Good stuff, Armando. I'm interested, however, if there is some kind of harm done to the system if it is continually cycled on and off over the day. A silly and probably invalid comparison would be with an incandescent light bulb. Regarding the life of the filament, cycling on and off will shorten its life (or so my old man used to tell me). In other words, if you're only going to be gone for a short while, leave it on. What say you on the potential damage done to components within a computer system? Is there any?
