Just to let you know, I bought the wonderful Sony MVC-CD1000 last Summer,
and have been quite amazed with the photos that I have taken - from closeup
pictures of family and friends all the way to zoomed-in photos of ducks on
the water from 250 feet away - that can be easily identified!!

This camera has the capability of 20x zoom, as well as Macro. It did come
with a memory stick which holds 32 MBs, but I prefer the CD-R 156 MB discs
that you can just pop right from your camera into the compuer and have the
pictures on your monitor screen instantly. With a long-lasting lithium
rechargeable battery and these CD-R discs, I can snap away, usually getting
at least 150 shots when set at the lowest resolution on that one disc. The
camera is rather pricey, but had dropped $300 in price which I bought mine -
so may be even less now. I would recommend that you go to the Sony Web site
where you can look up all specifications for that camera, as well as see and
read about all the accessories available for it.

It is also great to have a built-in flash as well as the Sony 'Steady Shot'
feature. The down side would be that it is a rather large camera, but I
really like the end result!

I have made two awesome MicroSoft Power Point Slide Shows using my photos
from this camera taken of the Backyard Habitat Garden and Native Plant Garden
at the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge for programs that I have given for some groups
 - I am the Lead Gardening Volunteer out there - and it is great to have such
good visual history of the progression of these two gardens.

Good luck on your research for purchasing a digital camera. I know you will
enjoy having one!!
