All the books Dean listed are good; I have all of them.  There is also a
great guide to Shorebirds of the Pacific Northwest that essentially covers
the whole country.  My only comment is that, in my opinion, the Shorebird
Guide should be your primary resource, and the others all are complimentary
to it, not the other way around.
