Birded Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery in Anderson County beginning at 11:15 this
morning. I didn't find the American Golden Plover but then I'm notoriously
unable to locate that species. Lots of Killdeer and 3 Least Sandpipers was my
shore bird quota for the morning.

Had better luck with Waterfowl. 2 Pied Billed Grebes, Blue-Winged and
Green-Winged Teal (had a devil of a time sorting them out but I estimate 8 blue
and 5 green), two female Northern Pintails, a female Ring-Necked Duck and 4
American Coots plus the usual Mallards and Canada Geese. All the ducks except
for many of the Mallards were females (or perhaps eclipse males).

Other interesting birds included 3 Eastern Meadowlarks, an Eastern Phoebe, a
Belted Kingfisher (maybe 2), a Green Heron and am odd looking white Pigeon with
a black tail off by itself in one of the drained ponds.
