Hi, A custom policy template will work just fine. Eg. CATEGORY "Folder Redirection" KEYNAME "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders" POLICY "Redirect the My Documents Folder" PART "My Documents Folder PAth" EDITTEXT REQUIRED EXPANDABLETEXT DEFAULT "%UserProfile%\My Documents" VALUENAME "Personal" END PART END POLICY POLICY "Redirect the Application Data Folder" PART "Application Data Folder PAth" EDITTEXT REQUIRED EXPANDABLETEXT DEFAULT "%UserProfile%\Application Data" VALUENAME "AppData" END PART END POLICY POLICY "Redirect the Desktop Folder" PART "Favorites Folder PAth" EDITTEXT REQUIRED EXPANDABLETEXT DEFAULT "%UserProfile%\Desktop" VALUENAME "Desktop" END PART END POLICY POLICY "Redirect the Cookies Folder" PART "Cookies Folder PAth" EDITTEXT REQUIRED EXPANDABLETEXT DEFAULT "%UserProfile%\Cookies" VALUENAME "Cookies" END PART END POLICY POLICY "Redirect the Favorites Folder" PART "Favorites Folder PAth" EDITTEXT REQUIRED EXPANDABLETEXT DEFAULT "%UserProfile%\Favorites" VALUENAME "Favorites" END PART END POLICY END CATEGORY ;Folders CATEGORY StartMenu Regards, Rick Ulrich Mack Volante Systems Ltd 18 Heussler Terrace, Milton 4064 Queensland Australia. As for a strictly GUI way to do it, I have not seen one. The only options you have are the 4 listed in the policy. This may not be off much help to you but we use a program called ScriptLogic which handles folder redirection for anything you want to put in. It is based on Kix which I know some think is an outdated language but it works for what we need. It validates against all Microsoft OS'es. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jonathan.Carr@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, July 28, 2004 4:42 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] OT: GPO Folder Redirection Hi all, Having only used system policy previously, I'm trying to get my head around group policy on a new 2003 machine we are implementing. On our (soon to be) old NT4 domain users running NT4 w/ MF 1.8 had a custom shared desktop and shared programs folder via system policy. I am trying to implement exactly the same through folder redirection in the GPO on our new 2003 machines, but I can only redirect the desktop and there is no option for programs only start menu. I know I can achieve this by editing the all users profile in the doc's & settings folder to what I require, but I'm sure there must a way of doing through the GPO. Any ideas?
