Uninstall the client and make sure the registry entries and files are cleared 
off, reboot, check the regional and locale settings to make sure those are set 
correctly reinstall te client, reboot and try it. 

I tan into something similar with a US user that kept defaulting to UK settings 
on our XenApp server. Drove me nuts for a few hours
