Hi, Can't get the article, but basically there are a number of ways of forcing the IMA service to recereate the host cache. There is a utility called lhcbak, that will stop the IMA service, set the reload lhc registry value and restart the IMA service. You can user the command "dsmaint recreatelhc" and restart the IMA service, or you can do it manually. If that doesn't help, it's useful to find out which plugin was last one loading during the start of the IMA service. If you run regedit, and go to HKLM\Software\Citrix\IMA\Runtime and check the value, CurrentlyLoadingPlugin. If the IMA service has started properly, then the value will have nothing there. If the IMA service is hung starting, then the value will have the last plugin loaded, which is most likely responsible for the hang. As a couple of examples, if the datastore is remote to the Citrix server, then mfprintss.dll may be stuck (there's a hotfix to fix this), if the server has crashed, the RM local database can get corrupted and one of the rm*.dll plugins will be there (requires a delete or repair of the rmlocaldatabase). Once you find out which plugin is "stuck", go to \Program Files\Citrix\System32\Citrix\IMA\Subsystems, right click on the plugin and get the properties/version. That will tell you which subsystem is hung and may help you to work out what's broken. If that doesn't help let me know. regards, Rick Ulrich Mack Volante Systems Rick ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of dmauri@xxxxxx Sent: Tue 9/11/2004 6:25 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Hoping someone is awake and can help! You might try recreating the LHC on the server with IMA service hanging. Take a look at this article and see if it helps. http://support.citrix.com/kb/entry.jspa?entryID=1803 <http://support.citrix.com/kb/entry.jspa?entryID=1803> Also check to make sure print spooler is not hung. -Mike -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Schneider, Chad M Sent: Thursday, October 28, 2004 9:42 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Hoping someone is awake and can help! WIN2K SP4 60 servers Citrix Xpe SP3/FR3 3 zones (physical) each with their own ZDC. 1 in Oshkosh, WI (46 servers)(Data store (SQL)) 1 in New London, WI (12 servers) 1 In Terre Haute, IN (2 servers) New London zone has begun to experience troubles where...users connect to Citrix published app., but the app. Never opens, but shows open in Connection Center on client. Through CMC, server shows no client connections. Remote the server, reboot, shows closing out 35 users currently connected. Cancel, attempt to restart IMA, hangs on stopping. Reboot of the servers takes FOREVER, I believe it is trying to shut down the IMA. Remoting one server now, restart IMA, hung at stopping for over an hour now. Connection between NL zone and Oshkosh (Data Store) is DS3. Any idea what might be happening? I would be glad to give more info., not thinking real straight, been at this since 4AM.
