Vieo was a sponsor for 3 months. Their sponsorship expired a several months ago
and they did not renew.

Jim,

I sent them an email complaing about spamming me and they told me they
advertised with thethin. If this is the case I don't have any problem with it.
I didn't see their ad on your main page so I assumed they were not an
advertiser. Here is the response I got from them. If they don't advertise
this is a prefect opportunity for you to sign up another advertiser. After all
the $$$$ goes to a great cause.

Jim,

I wanted to touch base with you regarding your recent posting about Cesura.

We actually do advertise on thethin.

Sorry for perhaps being to informal, ie. ?friend?.

We believe we have a product that is very unique in support of the Citrix user
base.

I would certainly appreciate it if you might guide me on how we might better
reach out to that group.

Sincerely,

Mike

CESURA: Business Certainty When It Matters

I am not sure where they got their list from but I was in contact with someone
there this morning and he claims to have purchased it. Since this list has
never been given out I can only assume it is from a different source. If
someone received this message on an email that they only use for this list I
would be interested to know that. I severely admonished them and explained
that UCE is UCE is UCE. If I don't ask for information about your company, I
don't expect to receive it. It basically is the result of an overzealous
marketing person the likes of which we have seen in the past. Sell at all
costs...I hate the tactics. I have told many vendors that I am always more than
happy to post and introduce new products to people on this list if a vendor
asks...I think that is providing a service and most people have enjoyed that
aspect of input I have. On the other hand the method cesura used is an unwanted
intrusion.

Take it with a grain of salt..hit the delete key and move on.

So what do you do about spammers? Simply ignore it and let them get on
with persuing people for financial gain in this annoying and agressive
method? I don't, it's about time people stood up to them, and inform
them they are the scum of the IT world, and are not wanted.

If anyone wants to offer them business after receiving this email,
then that is their own choice however, I don't, and I think I have a
right to tell them to stick there email, just as people have a right
to ignore it.
