Send interesting sightings- complete with species name, LOCATION, and contact information- to Kenny Anderson at kennya290@xxxxxxxxx -Rarities Found This Week- A Piping Plover was reported from Union Grove WMA in Bell County on 8/22. I have not seen the details yet, but am passing on the report from Stillhouse Hollow. A Least Tern was observed along Sayersville Road in Bastrop County on 8/16. A Broad-tailed Tailed Hummingbird was at a Blanco county home on 8/18. A Prairie Warbler visited a Bastrop County home's water feature on 8/19.20. A male Prairie Warbler was seen by many at Roy Guerrero Park, just downstream of the first creek below Longhorn Dam, 8/19-21. Roseate Spoonbills: 3 at Granger Lake (2 Willis Creek and 1 Sore Finger) in Williamson County on 8/18. 1 at Divine Lake in Williamson County 8/16, 1 at Brushy Creek Park on 8/19 in Williamson County. 3 birds were reported on Lady Bird Lake on 8/17 (no details obtained) in Travis County. -Continuing From Previous Week- A Snowy Plover Continued at Hornsby Bend in the drying basin, photos were taken on 8/16. Travis County A Baltimore Oriole- either an early migrant or a hold-over from a June 21st sighting at the same location- was observed with the Prairie Warbler at Roy Guerrero Park on 8/18-21. Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered from the Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine. When documentation or photographs were provided that is mentioned, along with the other information about the bird(s) being seen.
