Send interesting sightings- complete with species name, LOCATION, and contact information- to Kenny Anderson at kennya290@xxxxxxxxx -Rarities Found This Week- A Great Kiskadee seen by the boat ramp at Fisherman's Park in Bastrop County was a nice find on 8/20. A hatch-year Red-headed Woodpecker was just outside of Bastrop State Park on 8/19. The West Bouldin Greenbelt in south Austin hosted a Prairie Warbler 8/17,20 in Travis County. A healthy/wild looking Greater White-fronted Goose at Slough Pond in Temple is a head-scratcher. 8/16 in Bell County. Sayer's Road in Bastrop County provided looks at a Yellow-headed Blackbird on 8/21. A Philadelphia Vireo was reported at Hornsby Bend on 8/18. A vocal Couch's Kingbird at Roy Guerrero Park in Austin demonstrates this site as a strong-hold for what has become a range expansion of the species. 8/18. Action has picked up considerably, I look foward to exciting reports from the field. Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centeredfrom the Capitol in downtown Austin.
