This is the Austin Area Rare Bird Alert. This update is as of 10/1/2015.
Send interesting sightings, complete with species name, location, and

-Rarities found this week-

An ALLEN'S HUMMINGBIRD was photographed at a private residence in
western *Travis
County,* 9/28. This is presumed to be the same bird at the same residence
as earlier this year.

A WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH was described from Riverview Park in Seguin,
*Guadalupe*, 9/28.

A CINNAMON TEAL was photographed in *Williamson County*, 9/26.

A RINGED KINGFISHER was well described from the Inks Lake Fish Hatchery,
*Burnet*, 9/30.

A SWAINSON'S THRUSH was described from West Bouldin Creek Greenbelt, *Travis,
9/29.*

-Continuing birds from previous weeks-

A VEERY continued at Warbler Woods, *Guadalupe*, most recently 9/30.

RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS continued near the Alum Creek are near Bastrop State
Park, *Bastrop*, 9/29.

A GREAT KISKADEE continues at Berry Springs Park in Georgetown,
*Williamson,* most recently 10/1.

Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered on the
Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been
filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine.
When documentation or photographs were provided, that is mentioned along
with the other information about the bird(s) being seen. For questions or
